A good and effective approach for those seeking knowledge on Aqeedah!
Knowing the correct Aqeedah or the correct belief is undoubtedly the most important and the highest of the Shariah obligations. It is the basis of religion that we must prioritize before any knowledge. It is important to pay more attention to learning this subject than any other knowledge. Choosing and retaining a qualified sheikh or a good teacher who can teach you your faith and who is upright in his beliefs and practices is the most important aspect of learning the correct aqeedah.
Aqeedah education is an education that deserves more attention and effort than other Shariah educations, and it is more important to choose a good method to learn it and to discuss the issues in this round. I would like to write to you with a brief explanation of what I heard from a sheikh when he said that it is a useful and good way to learn Aqeedah.
Basically, not all students will have the same approach around this. A beginner student of Aqeedah and a student with little eyes open do not see the same path. The first thing we need to know is which lesson we should be learning gradually. Therefore, when a beginner student of Aqeedah begins his studies, he leaves the short books containing the clear Aqeedah of Imam Muhammad Abdul Wahab. Usulu Salasa, Qawaidul Arbaa and Nawaqidul Islam, if he can study these books carefully and memorize them.
Then he gradually learns Asulu Sita, Keshifu Shubuhat, Kitabu Tawheed, Mufidul Mustafid, Tafseer Kelimti Tawheed and other important short books. Then he learns (with caution) the books that revolve around Asma' Wasifat and other points of Aqeedah, Aqeedatul Wasitiya, Lumuatul Ithiqad and Aqeedatul Tahawiya. However, when learning these books, the doubts and confusions raised by different factions around Aqeedah should not be raised so that it does not bring confusion and controversy to his mind. It is on the steppe where only Aqeedah, which is the ruling of the Qur'an and Hadith, is held.
Then, in order to strengthen his belief, he should learn the in-depth interpretations of Qawaidul Musla, Tadmuria, Irshad, Sherhul Wasitiya of Haras and the above-listed books with a wide explanation of the confusion of sects. After that, if he takes some limited language training as a tool and learns the book of Aqeedah by Fathul Majeed, Maarijal Qabul and others by Sheikhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibnul Qayyim and other rare scholars of today, it will be effective.
What is the special type of worship in the month of Rajab?
The great Islamic scholar Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said:
"All the hadiths that indicate fasting and night prayers in the month of Rajab are lies and fabrications." [Al-Manarul Munif 96]
Al-Hafiz Ibn Rajab (Rahimahullah) said:
"There is not a single Sahih hadith that suggests the superiority of fasting in the month of Rajab or the night of prostration, nor the superiority of fasting on certain days of the month." [Le Taiful Maarif 228]
Abi Bakr Ibn Abi Shaybah (Rahimahullah) said:
"Abu Muawiyah took it from Aamesh, Aamesh was on the authority of Abdi Rahman, Abdi Rahman was on the authority of Hersh Ibnil Hur, and he told us that: Because of the fasting of the month of Rajab, I saw Umar Ibn al-Khattab (Radiyallahu Anhu) whipping their hands until they ate food. He used to say to them: - Which Rajab is Rajab? Rajabma was respected by people during Jahiliyyah, but it was abandoned when Islam came. [Al-Musonif 9758]
It's amazing! There was a situation where our processions whipped the person who brought us a new innovation on the religion, but today when he and the ulema speak harshly against the houses of bida, they are called Mutashedid, insulting, takfir...
The great Islamic scholar Sheikhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (Rahmatullahi Alaihi - Waqdsalahu Ruhahu) said:-
"As for fasting the month of Rajab in a different way, all the hadiths are weak (doif) and even rejected (mudu'). None of the knowledge holders are at a point where they can rely on it. Even though they are weak, they are not at the level where it can be said that it will work for them. All those who reject (ablution) are liars against the Prophet ï·º.” [Majmu' Alfatwa 25/290]
The great scholar of Islam Abdul Aziz Ibn Baz (Rahimahullah) said:
"Celebrating the month of Rajab as ``Salat-e-Reeb'' or celebrating the 27th night as the night of Isra' and Mi'raj with a special arrangement is all a new innovation (bida') and is not allowed. It has no basis in our Sharia.” [Muqiu Sheikh - taken from their website]
The great scholar Sheikh Salih Fawzan (Hafizullah) said:
"The month of Rajab is like other months, there is nothing different from other months in terms of worship." Because there is nothing proven from the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) that he is different from others in prayer, fasting, umrah or slaughtering. In the month of Rajab, these activities were performed in the Jahiliyyah era, and Islam rejected it.
If a person creates worship (Ibadah) in this month, and says that it is a special worship (Ibadah) to be performed in this month, this person will be a creator of something new (Mubdi') that we do not have in the Deen. Because he is a creator of new things that we did not have in the religion, and worship (Ibadah) is limited, so it is not possible to create anything without evidence from the Qur'an and Hadith. There is no credible evidence to suggest that any fasting month is different. The hadiths that came from the Prophet ï·º are generally unverified (doif). In general, the Companions warned against fasting during the month of Rajab, as opposed to making an exception for this act (Rajb) in worship. However, if a person used to perform night prayers and fasts in other months, there is no problem in fasting in the month of Rajab as in other months. [Al-Muntaqah Min Fatawa 1/222-223]
The great scholar Shaykh Rabi' Al-Madhli (Hafizullah) said:
"We advise the Muslim to leave such a despicable thing. It is for him to stop following everyone who is shouting. Rather, we advise him to stick to the rope of Allah, to leave everything that is not prescribed by the Book of Allah (Qur'an) and the hadith of the Prophet ï·º. [Taken from their website]
